Nageshwar Temple- The 10th Jyotirlinga among 12

 The Nageshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, which are considered to be the most sacred and important Shiva temples in India. Located in the state of Gujarat, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is believed to be one of the oldest temples in the country. History:

The temple is built in the traditional Nagara style, which is characterized by a curvilinear tower (shikhara) with a dome-shaped top. The sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) of the temple houses the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, which is a representation of the deity in the form of a lingam. The lingam is situated in a small chamber and is covered with a silver mask.

Significance:

The Nageshwar Temple is considered to be one of the most important Shiva temples in India. It is believed that worshipping at this temple can bring prosperity, happiness, and good health. According to legend, Lord Shiva appeared here in the form of a Jyotirlinga to defeat a demon named Daruka, who had been tormenting the people of the region.

The temple is also associated with the legend of the Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata. It is said that the Pandavas, during their exile, visited this temple and worshipped Lord Shiva here. The temple is also believed to be the place where Lord Krishna's grandson, Vajranabha, performed penance and was blessed with a vision of Lord Shiva.

The Nageshwar Temple is also known for its association with the snake deity, Nagas. According to legend, Lord Shiva is the lord of the Nagas, and worshipping him at this temple can protect one from the harmful effects of snakes.
